Post Wedding Vacation Detox Plan
Support your body after vacation with a gentle detox using essential oils.
Weddings are something else, aren’t they? So special, so magical, and so freaking rad to have all of your closet friends and family in one room with you. I recently was in a wedding for my dearest friend, Lynds, in Mexico! It was a BLAST and we all had a great time dancing, laughing and celebrating forever together. Love you Lu + Ray xo!
Coming back from a week of love n’ fun jumping back into work and life felt a little rough. My body has been asking for a little extra TLC.
Here are some simple ways I’m supporting myself after a week-long vacation in Mexico. I put the list into daily, weekly and then an ‘if I feel like it’ list cause….well, these are my lists I can do whatever the heck I want! Plus, it’s nice to have options. I didn’t organize them into AM or PM because I need to be flexible with my schedule and will do each item when I can.
DAILY
Cilantro essential oil on the bottom of my feet + then put socks on
Oil pull with On Guard essential oil and Clove essential oil
In veggie cap, add a drop of the following essential oils - detox blend, grapefruit, frankincense, ginger, lemon, lavender, celery seed
Take 2 Turmeric Capsules
A cup of Yogi detox blend tea
In water throughout the day, alternate the following essential oils, 1 drop each: slim + sassy, metabolic blend, peppermint
On skin: Alternate with Yarrow Pom, frankincense and lavender essential oils
Chew the Slim and Sassy Metabolic Gum throughout the day
WEEKLY
Go for a walk outside and notice cute stuff, walk a different way outside my door so I can get to know my neighborhood - 2x
Exercise / Move My Body - 3x
Epsom salt baths with 1/2 cup baking soda and essential oils: Juniper Berry + Rosemary (2 drops each) or 5 drops AromaTouch essential oil Blend - 2x
Castor oil pack with one of the following essential oils: purify + detox blend or celery seed - 3x
Diluted Oregano essential oil on the bottom of my feet - 1x
If I feel like it:

Resourcing Yourself
Support yourself in healing through the practice of resourcing yourself.
Over the course of the last two months I’ve been working a lot on myself. And belief me, it ain’t ova.
To support myself in the process of healing and to find balance (whatever that is). I’m going to be sharing my findings here about what’s helping me.
One of the practices is called resourcing. In my own definition, resourcing is equipping myself with something I can lean on when in need of comfort and support.
Here’s how it goes…
Find a place you feel ultra safe, for me it’s a spot in nature - go there
Tune in to your five senses
How does your body feel? What happens when you feel this safe-ness? For me, my shoulders relax, my breathing deepens + I feel a warmth in my solar plexus
Notice what’s around you… My safe place is surrounded by redwood trees, the trunks are big and strong and there is sun shining through the branches above. There are no people around, just the natural sounds of nature to keep my company.
Grab an essential oil you love, for me I chose Arborvitae (known as the ‘tree of life’) - it’s warm, earthy + woody. Take a deep inhale and take inventory of your senses again. Notice your body sensations, look around + allow yourself to feel comforted and safe. Take another deep inhale right from the bottle or you can put a drop in your hand, rub your palms together and breathe inward deeply that way.
Our smell is the strongest tie to memory so what this does is gives you something you can use at work, in traffic, on the go, wherever and be able to tap back into the safe-ness you felt when in that location of your choice.
Every time I smell arborvitae it brings me right back to my safe place in nature and my body responds to the aroma. A great way to support yourself when you’re unable to stop, drop and do a yoga pose, meditate or just go for a walk. I like adding arborvitae to my bracelet. I add one drop to the clay bead and it brings the scent with me wherever I go.
If you are looking to resource yourself with the power of essential oils I look forward to connecting with you.

Test of Trust
Wouldn't the greatest test of trust
be to let go of all
for once, to drop the ball
let everything fall
be quiet, still, and wait
to know you are okay
Wouldn't the ultimate test of trust
be to release everything
for once, step out of the ring
finally focus on BEing
be patient, calm, and wait
to know you are worthy
Wouldn't the biggest badass test of trust
be to say no
for once, say you won't go
to no longer feel so low
be steady, grounded, and wait
to know you are deserving
So next time you try to do it all
to push yourself and make it all happen
know there is trust in the wait
that tests aren't just for school
and when you test trust
it's results are always true

Changes Sucks…but
Change sucks but, it’s required to grow.
You can either run from change and give into fear or you can step up to the plate and do something about it. In order to change something you have to believe it’s possible. You have to believe you can bring something different to the table – a fresh perspective, a positive outlook, constructive feedback to the group.
Change is something that can be paralyzing for some, your first reaction after changing something might be, “Oh shit, I didn’t make the right decision!” Does that mean you’ve made a mistake? No, it means that you’re uncomfortable and when you’re uncomfortable you are growing, you’re learning, you are outside your comfort ‘safe’ zone and it sucks sometimes.
When going through a life-changing experience, you need to give yourself TIME. Time to observe, time to adjust, time to reach out to others, and time to get to know the new people around you.
Last Monday, November 3rd, was my first day in a brand new office. I got a promotion! Everything about my job is now changed completely – my environment, the people around me, my support circle, my commute to work is now close to two hours each way, my gym, morning routine, and to be honest with you I am completely overwhelmed. I have no CLUE what I’m doing, it feels as though I’m floating in space given a mission like, “Okay Jess, congrats! Now get to Earth.”
I spoke with a very special someone about this, and he shook something in me. It changed my perspective on the situation – it didn’t magically change any of the challenges I was focusing on so much, but it did shift my perspective from the victim mentally to an empowering, moving forward, kicking-ass mentality.
It’s ALL about perspective. You can look at this kind of situation as an opportunity to get small and hide OR you can look at this as an opportunity, a chance to step up to the plate, and trust that The Universe is never going to give us something we cannot handle. This new job, role, office, location, life, everything is an opportunity for me to bring the light to this new office, to be an example of someone that says, “Hey! I can make a difference here!”
I believe wholeheartedly I am ready for this – I accepted the position with extreme excitement. With that, comes nervs and today I thought about how I may have made the wrong decision. Once I thought about it more I realize that voice is my ego. The whole, “I can’t,” is bullshit.
My perspective is the only thing that’s immediately changed from this morning to now. Have I learned all the in’s and out’s of the job? Have I conquered all goals? Have I made an impact and built a legacy in this office? No. But the no, means not yet.
This change is making me stronger. The issue now is not change, but more about looking at the situation with a, “What can I bring? What can I do? How can I make a difference? How do I show up each day for my team and for my own goals in this new role?” That, to me, is a prime example of going from a victim mentality to an empowering force of The Universe.
If there’s something in your life that you feel is paralyzing you in terms of change or a transition you are going through my biggest advice to you is to FEEL THE FEELING. If you need to cry – cry. If you need to yell – fucking scream. Whatever you do don’t give up! You were given this opportunity not to get down on yourself, attack, compare, and judge but as a platform to step into your own power and inspire other people to do the same. If you focus your energy on that, and you do consistently, it will create an impact. One where you hold a space for your own vision, and light – people will see the light in you, and start to bring there’s out as well.
This is the way we need to look at situations we are unsure, change, and feelings of being uncomfortable in situations – How can we spin this into a positive? How can we view this as an opportunity to show up more, and to be more of the badass person we are here to be.
